Last week I did a poll on my Instagram to see what y’all wanted me to talk about on the podcast next and “Overcoming Comparison” was the winner! I’m super excited to dive into this topic and share with you the three types of comparison and how you can overcome them all!
There is a never ending # of categories that we can compare ourselves in. For instance, physical appearance, job titles, vacations, house size, and many other worldly successes.
There is also a never ending # of people to compare ourselves to. You’ve got all the people you know in your life…your family, friends, and even people at the grocery store. That’s a lot of people in and of itself but then you also have the social media abyss filled with strangers all over the world right at your fingertips.
Comparison is something we have all encountered in our life. When you look at the definition of it, it seems pretty harmless. It’s what we do with it that makes the big difference. Do we use it to make our life more positive or negative?
Negative comparison can lead you down a sinful road of envy, jealousy, and self doubt.
But we can choose!
In Episode 6 of The Forward In Faith Podcast I’ll be discussing the 3 types of comparison and some tips we can use to overcome these thoughts and feelings! We’ll also be looking at 1 Thessalonians 5:11, 1 Corinthians 12, and Genesis 1.
If you’re over there comparing yourself to others and feeling like the grass is greener somewhere else, this podcast is for you! It’s time to use comparison in a positive way, remember who Christ says you are, and start living the life that you were literally created for!!
